U.S. News and World Report released its 2017-2018 best hospital rankings and the CDC released a report indicating that the number of people with epilepsy in the U.S. has increased to about 3.4 million.


U.S. News and World Report Released 2017-2018 Best Hospital Rankings

Yesterday, US News and World Report published its ranking of Best Hospitals for 2017 – 2018.  The article can be found at: http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/rankings/neurology-and-neurosurgery.  US News recognizes NAEC accreditation of level 4 epilepsy centers in its ranking of hospitals with the best Neurology and Neurosurgery Departments.

Recent Study Shows Number of People with Epilepsy Increased

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report on August 10th.  The data show that the number of people with active epilepsy in 2015 rose to about 3.4 million.  This is also the first CDC study to provide estimates of epilepsy prevalence at the national and state level.  For more information on the CDC’s Epilepsy Program visit https://www.cdc.gov/epilepsy/index.html.
